ACTUAL TESTIMONIALS FROM ACTIVE STUDENTS
Before we found Calla Karate my boys where asking my wife and I if they could take karate for quite some time. With so many Martial arts schools to choose from, and UFC schools popping up all over, you wouldn't think this would be a problem, but for me it was. My father is a classically trained black belt in Kempo who trained in Korea, so my view of the Martial arts is that it's more than just sport. From a young age I was taught that the Martial arts are a way of life, a discipline and a passion. In my limited time studying Jujitsu as a kid I fell in love with the art, and regret I didn't continue my training. I truly believe if I went to a school like Calla Karate that I never would of stopped attending classes, and if I wasn't injured at work, I would of eventually continued my own training at this very same school I'm proud to send my children to. That's the amazing thing about Calla Karate, it's a family run Martial arts school for your entire family. This is the type of school you only read about or see in the movies, as it combines all the traditional qualities you expect from a top flite Karate/Jujitsu school of self defense, self discipline with devotion to family, along with the fun and sport we've all come to expect from the more contemporary and mixed schools of today. When we drop our boys off to class at Calla Karate, it's like dropping them off at a trusted family members house, except you don't get them back crazy..... Seriously! We're also content knowing they're learning self defense, self discipline, and getting much needed exercise. My wife and I are grateful to the entire Calla Karate team and family for their friendship, love, and support, especially their talented and gracious owners Sensei Mary, and Kioshi Eddie, who more than anything else are the finest of people.

When my son, AJ, began classes at Calla Karate at age 5 I wasn't sure he could handle it. He had issues focusing and socialization was a problem. Sensei Mary insisted he could rise to the challenge and she couldn't have been more right. Almost 2 years later, AJ started in the calla cubs and has since moved up to the kids class and has earned his fifth belt (full yellow) and even more importantly made incredible progress. He can't wait to go to his classes every week and keep working hard to earn his next belt. He has so much fun with his Calla classmates and has gained a level of pride in himself that I didn't think was possible. Sensei Mary instills values in her students reminding them that trying their best is important at home and at school, as well as at karate. This has motivated AJ to exhibit better behaviors at school because he knows Sensei Mary will check up on him. He really has grown tremendously with her love and support. As a parent, this is invaluable because at Calla AJ learns self-discipline, teamwork, focus, and respect, in addition to karate. I admit I cried tears of joy and pride when my boy broke his first board at belt promotion! Joining the Calla Karate family was definitely one of the best decisions I have made for my son.
